Year 2010 in Vienna, Austria: Wanting to help his father, who was running his own transportation business, in operating his fleet more efficiently, Wagas went out to source a GPS tracking system. To his surprise, what he found were complicated and quite expensive solutions. So he tried to source the hardware directly and found that the manufacturers were providing the hardware to integrators only, without any software.
After having spoken to more transportation business owners, he realized that the problem was on a much larger scale. Mostly none of their vehicles were connected, and they knew about real-time GPS Tracking from James Bond movies only and didn’t think it was actually possible. Due to this lack of knowledge, everyone was facing challenges in operating their fleet efficiently and in keeping their drivers under check and balance.
Few months later, in the beginning of 2011: Being an engineer himself, and already having some success as an entrepreneur, he connected the dots and launched within the Falkenherz Group a research & innovation arm for connected mobility, IoT/M2M, and artificial intelligence.
